Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025

1. Who we are

Tube Optimizer (“we”, “our”, “the platform”) is an AI-powered YouTube growth platform operated by Digiboffins. We help creators optimize video metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, timestamps), manage comments, and publish content to YouTube. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service and when we access Google/YouTube data via OAuth.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: When you sign up with Google, we receive and store your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this to identify you, display your profile in the app, and communicate with you.
  • YouTube channel connection: If you connect a YouTube channel, we store OAuth tokens (access and refresh tokens) and channel metadata (channel ID, title, thumbnail) so we can perform actions on your behalf (e.g. read video metadata, update titles/descriptions, upload videos, post comments, fetch analytics). We do not store your Google account password.
  • Project and content data: We store projects you create, including video URLs/IDs, titles, descriptions, tags, transcripts (fetched from YouTube or uploaded by you), AI-generated suggestions, and your edits. This data is used to provide optimization, publishing, and collaboration (sharing) features.
  • Usage and quotas: We track API usage (e.g. YouTube Data API, YouTube Analytics API) and credit consumption to enforce quotas and improve the service. We may log anonymized or aggregated operation counts for capacity planning.

3. Google / YouTube permissions and how we use them

When you connect your YouTube channel or sign in with Google, we request the following OAuth scopes. We use them only for the purposes described below.

  • openid, userinfo.profile, userinfo.email — To identify you and display your name/email in the app. Required for sign-in and account management.
  • youtube.readonly — To read your channel and video metadata (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view counts, etc.). Used for importing videos, syncing live metadata, showing analytics on the dashboard, and comparing optimized vs live content.
  • youtube.force-ssl — To update your videos’ metadata (titles, descriptions, tags) and settings (e.g. privacy, embeddable) when you publish from Tube Optimizer. Also used to post the first comment on your video when you choose that option, and to apply moderation actions (approve/hold/remove comments) on videos owned by your connected channel.
  • youtube.upload — To upload new videos (and optional custom thumbnails) to your channel when you publish from a local file. Used only when you explicitly choose to upload a video to YouTube from the platform.
  • youtube — Broader YouTube access used where necessary for publishing, thumbnails, and channel management in line with the features above.
  • yt-analytics.readonly — To show YouTube Analytics data (views, watch time, traffic sources, top videos, etc.) in the Analytics dashboard for your connected channel.
  • yt-analytics-monetary.readonly — To show monetization-related analytics for your channel where the Analytics dashboard displays revenue or earnings-related metrics.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling. We do not sell your personal information. We access YouTube data only to provide the features you use (optimization, publishing, analytics, moderation).

4. How we store and protect data

Account and project data are stored on our servers. OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to call Google/YouTube APIs on your behalf. We use industry-standard practices (e.g. HTTPS, secure credential storage) to protect data in transit and at rest. You can disconnect your YouTube channel at any time from Settings; we will stop using the tokens and you can revoke access in your Google account.

5. Data retention and your rights

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (or we remove it per our Terms of Service), we will delete or anonymize your data in line with our retention policy. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the support email shown on the OAuth consent screen (e.g. info@digiboffins.com). If you revoke our app’s access in your Google account, we will no longer be able to access your YouTube data; existing copies we hold will be handled according to this policy and our Terms.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use session and authentication mechanisms (e.g. JWT stored in localStorage or cookies) to keep you signed in. We may use essential cookies for security and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Third parties

We use Google APIs (YouTube Data API v3, YouTube Analytics API) under Google’s API Terms of Service and OAuth policies. Google’s privacy policy applies to how Google handles data. We may use other service providers (e.g. hosting) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality and data-processing terms.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. For questions or requests about this policy or your data, contact us at the user support email displayed on the OAuth consent screen (e.g. info@digiboffins.com).
